# Can I play the game for free?

Yes and No! Let's explain that:

* Yes. By checking in with your Blobble on a daily base, you can provide it with [free feeds](/faq/what-is-free-feeding.md) of Food, Drink and Love. These free feeds do require a negligible amount of ICX to cover ICON blockchain transaction fees. There is no in-game charge for these feeds.
* No. The initial purchase of a Blobble is required to gain entry into the Blobble world of game play. Blobbles can be purchased in the [Playground](/game-play/how-to-mint-a-blobble.md), the [Orphanage ](/game-play/how-to-adopt-a-blobble.md)and the [Market ](/faq/how-do-you-sell-your-blobble.md)at varying rates.
